Ingredients:

1 cup butter

1 cup white sugar

1 cup packed brown sugar

2 eggs

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

3 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

2 teaspoons hot water

1/2 teaspoon salt

2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

1 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Start your batch of cookies by preheating the oven. Set the temperature to a toasty 350 degrees and prepare a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Set the sheet aside and start making the dough.

In a large bowl combine the softened butter, white sugar and brown sugar together until smooth. Next, add in the eggs one at a time as you stir them in. Add in the vanilla. In a separate small bowl, dissolve the baking soda in hot water. Add in the baking soda solution and the salt to the batter. Then slowly stir in the flour, chocolate chips, and the walnuts (if you choose).

Spoon the batter onto the baking sheet into one inch balls and proceed to evenly space them to avoid baking into each other.

Place the cookies into the oven and bake for about ten minutes or until the cookies are browned. Let them cool, and enjoy them with friends, family, and a big glass of milk.

Ingredients:

2 cups fingerling potatoes

2 cups small red potatoes

2 cups small blue potatoes

1/4 cup red onion

3 large hard-boiled eggs

2 tablespoons fresh parsley

1 tablespoon fresh dill

1 tablespoon fresh chives

Dressing:

1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

1 1/4 teaspoons salt

1 garlic clove, minced

Then take them out of the pot to let them cool a bit. In a separate pot, boil the blue potatoes. Once again bring the pot to a boil and then let it simmer until the potatoes are tender. Let them cool and then transfer all the potatoes into a large mixing bowl.

In the mixing bowl, add the onion, parsley, dill, chives, and eggs. Toss the salad so that it’s evenly mixed. In a small bowl, create the dressing. Combine the vinegar, Dijon mustard, olive oil, salt, pepper, and garlic. Whisk well and then pour over the potatoes. Toss the salad so that the dressing evenly coats the vegetables.
